AppKatz E-Sign Acceptable Use Policy
AppKatz E-Sign is for small, everyday agreements between the parties who sign them. AppKatz never reads, scans or inspects your documents, so you are responsible for making sure that what you upload is allowed. Every party confirms this before uploading or signing, and that confirmation is recorded on the audit certificate.
Not allowed
Do not upload documents that contain, or use the service for:
- Classified, government-confidential or export-controlled information (including ITAR- or EAR-controlled data).
- Protected health information or medical records (including data covered by HIPAA).
- Payment card data (card numbers, security codes) or bank account or routing numbers.
- Social Security numbers, or passport, driver's license or other government ID numbers.
- Passwords, login credentials, API keys or other security secrets.
- Biometric data.
- Personal information about children (including information covered by COPPA).
- Trade secrets, or documents covered by a non-disclosure agreement, unless the people signing are the parties to that NDA.
- Documents that cannot legally be signed electronically, for example wills, court orders, notarized or real-estate instruments, and certain family-law documents.
- Agreements with a total transaction value of more than US$1,000.
- Anything illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, phishing, harassing or unsolicited.
Allowed
Ordinary contact details needed to identify the parties, such as names, email addresses, postal addresses and phone numbers, are fine.
Enforcement
We may block senders and cancel requests that we believe break this policy. Report misuse to [email protected]. This policy is part of the E-Sign Terms of Service.
